Dear Sir/Madam,
It is my great pleasure to announce that the 11th
Japan International Youth Musicale, a tri-annual international music festival
for young people will be held in Shizuoka,
Japan, in
July 2009. This Musicale was first held in 1979 and ever since we have held
it every three years, and have had the privilege of welcoming young musicians
from all over the world, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria,
Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Great Britain,
Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South
Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the U.S.A. and Zimbabwe.
The aim of the Japan International Youth Musicale is
for young people from around the world to enjoy a wonderful musical
experience, and also to nurture international friendship and understanding
through various musical activities.
The main venue for the Musicale is Shizuoka
city, the capital of Shizuoka
Prefecture and several
other cities and towns in prefecture will co-sponsor the Festival. Shizuoka City
is situated on the Pacific Coast of Japan, just one hour down the cost by
bullet train from Tokyo
(180 kilometers to the west). Shizuoka
boasts a mild climate with a lot of sunshine, which favors its rich harvest
of fruit, tea, and other agricultural products. People living there are quite
hospitable to others and many people choose this place as their permanent
home.
Yours faithfully,
Kenji Kimiya
Chairperson of JIYM
